Hunch — Terms of Service
1. What Hunch is
Hunch is a browser extension that helps you spot likely scams, phishing, and social-engineering attempts in your messages. It is an assistive tool, not a security guarantee.
2. What Hunch does not promise
Detection is probabilistic and can be wrong in both directions: Hunch may flag a legitimate message (a false positive) and may miss a real scam (a false negative). The absence of a warning is not a statement that a message is safe. You remain responsible for your own decisions about money, credentials, links, and personal information. Always verify unexpected or high-stakes requests through an independent channel.
3. No warranty
Hunch is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Hunch will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that it will detect any particular threat.
4. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hunch and its authors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of money, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use Hunch — including any scam, fraud, or phishing that Hunch did not detect or warned about incorrectly. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for Hunch (which for the free extension is zero).
5. Acceptable use
Use Hunch only for its intended purpose on your own browser sessions. Do not abuse, overload, reverse-engineer for the purpose of attacking, or attempt to use the Hunch server as a general-purpose network relay or to reach systems you are not authorized to reach.
6. Changes
We may update these terms and will change the “last updated” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
